On special request of the team of Brahmacharis and Brahmacharinis from Ashram
Gandhi Puri, Bali, Indonesia, a Hawana was conducted in the evening time in the
premises of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas.

After completion of the Hawana all are joyously
singing Bhajans together
The Hawana was conducted by our Omkarananda Ashram Pandits, Shri Suresh
Shastriji, Shri Sanjay Shastriji and their dedicated team.
This performance of the ancient ritual deepened the knowledge of the Balinese

holy and inspiring event.
The divine ceremony completed with joyous chanting and singing of Mantras and
Bhajans jointly by the Balinese Ashram team, our Omkarananda Ashram Pandits and

Visit
of Omkarananda Preparatory School Students
to Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir
on 11th November 2006
It was no doubt a special day for the
small small kids of Omkarananda Preparatory School, when they could line up for
the great Darshan of Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi. The Chief Priest and his
assistants showed to them the different shrines, explained them about the
Deities and finally blessed them with the traditional Tilak. Before they could
enjoy the Prasadam the Coordinator Smt. Meenakshi Gupta started to teach them
the recitation of the divine syllables. After this with great enthusiasm all the
children strongly recited the Mantras.

Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir
The function concluded with a deserved
Prasadam, while sitting in the warm sunlight.
In today's time it is highly appreciable when these kids already get a little
insight in the great eternal Vedic culture.

such an event. We really feel very proud to achieve a respectable position in

Book
Fair 2006 in Omkarananda Saraswati
Nilayam, Muni-ki-reti
"A good book is the best of
friends the same today and forever."
Books never
swindle us and no doubt they are the best companions a person can have because
they are always faithful.
The school organizes a book fair each year to
get for the students the world of knowledge. Every year the book fair coincides
with the Foundation Day Celebrations. This year also a Book Fair was organized
in the school by Scholastic Book Club from 29th November to 1st December 2006.
It was inaugurated by Kumari Somashekhariji, who has unfathomed love for books.
The students as well as teachers were seen
lost in the books during those days and admiring them. The books were divided in
three groups i.e. for class 2-5, 6-9 and 9-12. Varieties of books were displayed
which fascinated the students and inspired them to read at the same time. From
'World's Wackiest Riddle Book' to 'Harry Potter' and 'Solar System' to 'X-treme
Machines' all the books were mind-blowing. Many benefitted from this book fair
and after reading the books, all had nothing but praises for them. Liberal
purchases were made by students, parents, teachers and the guests.
