Concert with Barun Kumar Pal in
Omkarananda Ganga Sadan on 16th December 2006
For Barun Kumar Pal, the famous Hams-Veena Player, it was a great comeback to
the place he earlier visited and the place he deeply likes - Omkarananda Ganga
Sadan. He was accompanied by a flutist from the States, a Tabla Player from
Bengal and his own Tambura Player.

The great artist, Shri Barun Kumar Pal, playing on
the Hamsa-Veena
Within 1' hours Barun Kumar Pal and his team presented an excellent concert.
People could feel the experience which makes these musicians famous in their own
field. The Ragas they played left a great impact on the musical feelings of the
public. Barun Kumar Pal, while speaking to the audience, expressed his thanks,
especially to the administration, for providing him and his associates the
possibility to be near to the holy river Ganga.
To highlight the evening special forceful Ragas were demonstrated which marked
the power and the inspiration of this divine music.
After the concert thanks were specially offered to Swamini Chetan Jyoti, who
always attracts great artists, for her hard work in managing to bring these
wonderful artists to play in Omkarananda Ganga Sadan. Indeed it is a great
achievement for Muni-ki-reti and Rishikesh when such fine artists are coming and
enriching the area with musical divine vibrations.

Music
Concert with Krishna Das in Omkarananda Ganga Sadan on 20th December 2006
Krishna Das, a strongly devoted disciple of Neem Karoli Baba, has to his credit
the fact that he carries a place among the most famous singers in the world.
When Krishna Das went to the stage in Omkarananda Ganga Sadan, the hall was
truly packed. His style of singing and appearing and of course his jokes in
between may quietly remind oneself of the good old days when country music was
at its height, but with a difference. His songs were purely divine. In an
absolutely devotional way he sang in praise of Lord Rama, Sita, Hanuman and
other Deities. When he requested the audience to join him the atmosphere started
glowing.

tabla player
For many people it was like falling in trance when he and of course his Tabla-expert
increased the rhythm faster and faster.
Krishna Das lost his Guru Neem Karoli Baba. He was in deep grief when his Master
went into Mahasamadhi and it was then when he decided to start singing in his
favour and glory. He declared his songs a tribute to the eternal living spirit
of his Master Neem Karoli Baba.

The end of the programme was marked by a tremendous ovation for his wonderful
and highly elevating songs and there is no doubt that the great Lord Rama and
all the wonderful Gods and Goddesses must have had their own joy while hearing
their names in praise with great devotion and dedication.
Krishna Das showed great thanks and happiness for the two hours he could spend
in the holy vibration of the Ashram in the guest house Omkarananda Ganga Sadan
on the holy river Ganga.
