Kala-Ashtami-Celebration in Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas
19th November 2008

Kala-Ashtami is the most auspicious day dedicated to Lord Kala'bhairava - a manifestation of Lord Shiva. Kalabhairava is the God of Time. Kala-Ashtami is one among the celebrations, which is celebrated in Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas with great devotion.
'Mandap Sthapana' of Lord Kalabhairava along with Ganas (associates) and Mahakala-Bhairava Pooja were performed in the early morning.
After 'Bhasmabhishekam' with sacred ash from Yagnas, a grand Arati was performed and distribution of Prasad took place.
The environment sparkled up when in the evening a special Yagna started with the Moola Mantras of Bhairava and Rudra.
The whole Yagna continued up to midnight and devotees experienced a seraphical atmosphere due to the powerful recitation of Mantras by the devoted Priests of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas.
