Concluding Function of
Omkarananda Mahotsava 2005-2006

On
4th January 2006 the 11th day function of Omkarananda Mahotsava, began
with Ganapati Puja. On this occasion Kalasha Sthapana was done. Besides,
Shiva Pooja, Guru Pooja and Abhishekam were also performed in the temple
of Gurudev Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswatiji Maharaj. This day was
specially marked for Pooja. After that a grand and wonderful Hawan with
the Mantras of Rudri, Omkarananda Ashtottarashata, Omkara
Ashtottarashata and Shiva Ashtottarashata along with Omkarananda Gayatri
were performed by the Chief Priest of Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Temple
along with other priests of the temple. These Mantras were chanted in
such a rhythm and tone that they spell-bound all the Saints and Sadhus,
who came from outside and local area Ashrams and the whole atmosphere
was transformed into a Divine atmosphere, vibrant with the Divine power.
On the completion of Hawan, Kumari Somashekhari, General Secretary of
Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, offered Purnahuti. Afterwards the
Maha-Mandaleshwars, Mahants, Saints and Sadhus present conducted
powerful Prayers and Bhajans in the Mandap of Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi
Mandir. As a crowning conclusion, Omkarananda Arati was performed in the
Gurudev Temple and Prasadam was given to all present, followed by the
Bhandara, which was enjoyed by all Saints and Sadhus amidst the chanting
of holy Mantras and Vedic Hymns by Siddhartha Krishna and Kumari
Somashekhari. In the end Swami Vishveshwaranandaji, President of
Omkarananda Ashram, thanked all the Saints and Sadhus who came over to
grace the function.
