H.H. Swami
Vishveshwarananda with his Gurudev H.D. Paramahamsa Omkarananda
Saraswati in Omkarananda Ashram Austria
|
The renowned Mahapandita Shri Vishnu Vasant Shastri Panshikar, lovingly
called 'Abaji', was the Chief-Acharya of Omkarananda Ashram and he
adored, as thousands around the world do, Swami Omkarananda as an
Incarnation of God, and in adoration of his Divine Nature composed on
him highly inspiring and immortal Bhajans, Hymns, Stotras, Artikyams as
well as the Shrimad Omkara-Atharvashirsham.
Besides being a great devotee of Swami Omkaranandaji Abaji was an
outstanding teacher to the youth of the Omkarananda Ashram.
Being closely associated with Omkarananda Ashram Europe since the early
seventies Abaji also knew very well Swami Vishveshwaranandaji, for whom
he had great love and affection. When, in 1982, Paramahamsa Omkarananda
Saraswati sent Swami Vishveshwaranandaji to India for a great divine
mission, Abaji spontaneously composed following Sanskrit verses on Swami
Vishveshwarananda:

1. Swami Vishveshwarananda, who is always engaged in service, who is
ready to undertake a special mission, who is the most excellent amongst
the noble disciples (of Gurudeva), who is skilled in rectitude and is
renowned as the most beloved of his master, shines here (in front of
us).
2. The virtues of Swami Vishveshwarananda are love for Dharma, amicable
nature, devotion in the Lord, humbleness, capability of completion of a
work that is undertaken, aversion for fame and an intellect free from
greed.
3. Swami Omkarananda is his Gurudeva, whose Prana (the vital breath, as
dear and necessary as life) he certainly is. This foremost disciple is
renowned in the world as 'Vishveshvara' (the Lord of the Universe).
4. Oh Swami Vishveshwarananda! May you certainly be victorious! Your
work in Rishikesh may be successful!
5. You are a follower obeying the commands of Swami Omkarananda. 'May
you be successful', thus says Abaji Panashikara.
