Farewell Function for Students of Class
12 of Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam Inter-College, on 28th

With very tough competition and high
expectations from parents and teachers, the students of class XII
were under heavy stress. So in order to boost their morale and to
seek divine Blessings for the forthcoming Board Examinations,
special Prayers and a Hawana were performed for the class XII
students of Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam Inter-College, on 28th
February 2013, as a part of the Farewell Function, conducted for
them.
The programme, which took place in one of the
Halls of Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam, began with the traditional
lighting of the lamp by Revered Swami Vishveshwaranandaji Maharaj,
President Omkarananda Ashram, followed by Saraswati Vandana, sung
by the school choir.
The divine Presence of the Almighty could be
felt, when the whole atmosphere echoed with the chanting of
Shlokas during the Hawana, which was performed by Priests of
Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir, Shri Swami Vishveshwaranandaji,
Principal Col. Sachdevaji and students.

The school choir, under the guidance of the music teacher, Mrs.
Sujata Banerjee, presented a few devotional songs to bless and
motivate the students.
The School Captain, Sagar Sahni, became
nostalgic while sharing his feelings on this occasion. He thanked
all the teachers and the Principal for guiding him and providing
him with myriad opportunities for growth during his tenure as
School Captain.
The School Vice-Captain, Anima Rawat, gave a
very emotional speech while talking about her association as a
student of Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam. She also thanked all the
teachers for their love and support.
Mr. N.S. Rawat, father of Anima Rawat, said
during this occasion, that, "Plants are cultivated by
irrigation and men by education". He appreciated the
Principal and the teachers of Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam
Inter-College for providing excellent value based education to the
students. He wished luck to all the students.
Dr. U.S. Kandwal, father of Megha Kandwal,
House Captain of Titans, praised Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam for
having excellent academic record and for providing extracurricular
activities to students to work hard, as there is no shortcut to
success.
Mr. Satish Gupta, father of student Shubham
Gupta, appreciated Swami Vishveshwaranandaji, the Principal and
teachers for grooming the children and inculcating moral values in
them.
Swami Vishveshwaranandaji Maharaj said in his
speech, that it pains to depart but this is life and we should
face it. He appreciated the Principal for organizing special
Prayers and a Hawana for the class XII students, as prayers help
us in times of difficulties.

OSN Principal, Col. Sachdevaji, recollects affectionately the
educational journey of the past many years with his dear students.

Swami Vishveshwarananda and the Principal offer gifts to each
class 12 student.
He exhorted the students to focus on the right
path and to always remember the teachings of the Bhagavad-Gita,
the Upanishads and also the teachings of great Mystics and Sages
like Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati. Swamiji wished, that Swami
Omkarananda's Blessings shall always be with the students and
protect them and guide them.
The Principal, Col. (Retd.) D.L. Sachdeva,
said in his speech, that he shares a very informal relationship
with all his students and treats them as his grandchildren. He
urged the students to always follow the principles of "3 Ds"
i.e. Devotion, Dedication and Discipline. If they are disciplined
they would attain great heights in their lives.
Then Shri Swami Vishveshwaranandaji presented
gifts to each student.
The programme concluded with the lighting of
Deepas by the class XII students amidst the beautiful rendition of
the devotional song "Itni shakti hame dena…" by the
school choir.
