lecture about Yoga and Ayurveda. |
In his address, Siddhartha outlined a
comparative analysis of Yoga and Ayurveda to show the deep
connection of both healing systems. He said that Samadhi (deep
meditation), the goal of yoga, is in Sanskrit an antonym of
vyaadhi (sickness). Therefore, Samadhi should be understood as
perfect physical, mental and spiritual health. Yoga achieves this
siddhi (accomplishment) with the help of Ayurveda, as stated by
Sage Patanjali in Yoga Sutra 4.1.
