Mahakala-Bhairava Ashtami Celebration,
on 18th November 2011

The Mahakala-Bhairava Ashtami Celebrations at Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas started in the morning of 18th November 2011 with a beautifully decorated Mandapa of Deities: The Utsava Murti of Mahakala-Bhairava, Yogeshwara and Yogeshwari, photos of Sant Prabhuji and Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati.

The celebration commenced with Mandapa Puja, Kalasha Yatra and Maha-Abhisheka for Mahakala-Bhairava with items of Milk, Curd, Honey, Sugar, Ghee and a special fragrant Bhasma.

During the same occasion a beautifully designed Swarna-Chatra (golden umbrella) was installed for Lord Mahakala-Bhairava. The Swarna-Chatra is a generous contribution of Vrinda Bhagwat and Devayanee Bhide, two ardent devotees of Sant Prabhuji and Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas.

The morning celebrations culminated with Arati and Prasad Distribution.

The program continued in the evening with performing of Ganapati Puja, Guru Puja, Yogeshwara and Yogeshwari Puja and Mahakala-Bhairava Puja, followed by a special Yajna for Mahakala-Bhairava.

The Swamijis, Priests, Ashramites and other devotees joyfully participated and received the rare blessings of Divine Protection.
