Jayanti Function at Omkarananda Kunja Shishu Niketan,

The Junior High School
Omkarananda Kunja Shishu Niketan, Agrakhal, is the first among 50
Omkarananda Hill Schools, which was adopted by Omkarananda
Educational Society in the year 1989 and is running successfully
since then. On the invitation of the Management Committee of Swami
Omkarananda Kunja Shishu Niketan, Agrakhal, and with the kind
permission of Shri Swami Vishveshwaranandaji Maharaj, President,
Omkarananda Charitable Trust, a delegation consisting of Shri G.
Sukumar, Shri M.K. Agnihotri and Shri P.C. Malhotra, left
Omkarananda Shanta-Durga Mandir, Omkarananda Marg, Muni-ki-Reti,
to Omkarananda Kunja Shishu Niketan, Agrakhal, to attend a
function organised by the Management Committee of the School, on
2nd October 2011. The students of five Omkarananda Hill Schools of
the Agrakhal area participated in that function. On their
reaching, the delegation was accorded a warm reception.
The function was graced
by Shri Om Gopal Rawat, M.L.A., with his benign presence as Chief
Guest. Besides other distinguished guests and dignitaries also
Shri K.K. Gupta, District Inspector of Schools (D.I.O.S.), Shri
K.C. Gupta, Representative of Block Education Officer, and Shri
Vinod Kandari, Member, District Panchayat, graced the dais.

The programme commenced with the lighting of traditional lamp,
followed by Saraswati Vandana by a group of the girl students. On
this occasion many cultural programmes were presented. The
girl-students staged a wonderful group dance, which arrested the
attention of the audience and bagged high appreciation of all. The
whole atmosphere resounded with thunderous clapping.
Shri Vinod Kothiyal,
Head Master, Omkarananda Kunja Shishu Niketan, Agrakhal, read out
the welcome letter and highlighted the achievements of this
Omkarananda School. Shri Kothiyal informed the mammoth gathering
about the Blessings of Gurudev Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati,
and that through his wonderful disciple Shri Swami
Vishveshwarananda and their generous help, the School could enjoy
great progress since its inception, i.e. July 1989. He expressed
his sincere thanks for these Blessings.

On this event Shri K.K.
Gupta, D.I.O.S., remembered both the great personalities Mahatma
Gandhi and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri and said it would be our true
tribute to them if we follow the path showed by them. In his
address he specially mentioned that there is something
extraordinary found in the students, studying in the Omkarananda
Schools, being run by the Omkarananda Educational Society,
Muni-ki-reti. They are undoubtedly superior in knowledge and good
manners compared to the students who are studying in other
schools.

Shri Swami
Vishveshwarananda, President of Omkarananda Charitable Trust and
Omkarananda Educational Society, in a message, which was read out
by Shri G. Sukumar and translated by Shri M.K. Agnihotri, sent his
Adorations and best wishes for a grand success of the function.
Shri P.C. Malhotra highlighted the activities of Omkarananda
Educational Society and highly appreciated the dedication and
devotion of Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda in realising the vision
of his Gurudev Paramahamsa Omkaranandaji Maharaj and his aim to
remove the darkness of ignorance by the light of education, for
which he has chosen the remote areas of Uttarakhand. In order to
realise the vision of his Gurudev, Swami Vishveshwaranandaji, his
wonderful disciple, started opening schools and financing the
schools as per wishes of Gurudev. Shri Malhotra, with his powerful
voice, told the audience that they are very fortunate and that
they all should be highly thankful to such an eminent and great
disciple, who has earmarked this remote area of the Himalayas for
upliftment in education. He told, that he salutes such great
Saints, like Swami Vishveshwarananda, hundred times.

As a Chief Guest, Shri Om Gopal Rawat, MLA, also appreciated the
activities of Omkarananda Charitable Trust, being done in the
field of education. He told, that the education being imparted in
Omkarananda Kunja Shishu NiĀketan, Agrakhal, and its branches, is
praiseworthy. He praised the contribution of Omkarananda
Educational Society in imparting education in the remote areas of
the Garhwal Hills. On this occasion Shri Om Gopal Rawat, M.L.A.,
announced Rs.2 lacs assistance from his M.L.A. fund, 1 lac for
acquiring additional computers for the Omkarananda Agrakhal School
and 1 lac for additional furniture for this school and other
branches, too.
In the end Shri
Surendra Singh Kandari, Manager, Omkarananda Kunja Shishu Niketan,
Agrakhal, expressed his thanks to Gurudev H.D. Paramahamsa
Omkarananda Saraswati and to H.H. Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda for
their kind and generous Blessings and he thanked the MLA and all
others for having come to participate in the school function and
make it a grand success.
Thereafter the
Delegation, which had come from the Headquarters of Omkarananda
Ashram Himalayas, Muni-ki-reti, resumed their journey way back to
Omkarananda Nagar.
