Omkarananda Institute of Management
& Technology (OIMT),

On 7th September 2011 Omkarananda Institute of Management &
Technology celebrated its 13th Foundation Day in a joyous and
colourful way. The guests were received with the traditional
Tilak, flowers and Arati.
The start of this
celebration was marked by lighting of Dipas in front of a photo of
Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati by the Chief Guest Shri Om Gopal
Rawat, Honourable MLA, Narendranagar, Swami Vishveshwarananda,
President, Swami Omkarananda Saraswati Charitable Trust, and
Kumari Somashekhari, General Secretary, Swami Omkarananda
Saraswati Charitable Trust and Omkarananda Institute of Management
& Technology.
In his speech the
Director, Dr. Aditya Gautam, welcomed Swami Vishveshwaranandaji,
the honourable Chief Guest and all distinguished Members,
lecturers and students. He highlighted the progress of the
Institute and praised the works of the Lecturers. He also
emphasized on a dynamic future programme for upgrading the
Institute.

Shri Om Gopal Rawat focused on the need of Higher Education in
Uttarakhand and praised the noble contribution in the field of
education by H.D. Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati. He also
appreciated the progress of OIMT, which he declared as one of the
Top Institutes of Uttarakhand. He released Rs. 1 lac from his MLA
fund for upgrading of the sports field of the Management
Institute. He received a rousing applause from the students and
all others and many thanks were offered to him.
In the presence of Shri
Om Gopal Rawat, Swami Vishveshwarananda, Kumari Somashekhari and
Shri Mahaveer Singh Negi top students were awarded with medals,
certificates, gifts and cash prices.

Swami Vishveshwarananda offered thanks to all the Members of the
Management, the important guests, teachers and students. He
highlighted the humbleness and kindness of Shri Om Gopal Rawat as
an extraordinary political leader in our constituency. He thanked
him that he has accepted the invitation to visit OIMT.
Swamiji also praised
Prof. Ram Kumar Sharma, who - with the Blessings of Paramahamsa
Omkarananda Saraswati - started the Management Institute as its
first Director. Thanks also went to Shri Mahaveer Singh Negi for
his works in OIMT.
Among the important
guests were Swami Narasimhuluji, Trustee, Col. D.L. Sachdeva,
Principal, Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam, Shri G. Sukumarji,
Trustee and Member of the Management Board of OIMT, Shri I.D.
Joshi and Captain Tiwari.

Afterwards the function
entered into the cultural part with dances, staged dramas, etc.
Finally, a good lunch
was served to each and everybody.
The happy faces of all
the participants showed, that this function was a great success.
