Aastha is a socio-spiritual-cultural Television Channel, which is broadcasted all over India and in almost all the countries all over the world.

From July 2011 onwards a beautiful Documentary-series was started by Aastha-Channel, called "Bharat Varsh ki Sant Paramparaen" ("The Lineage of Saints of India"), in which glimpses of the lives of spiritual personalities are shown, who are running important Ashrams in India in the traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara (Guru-Disciple Tradition).

Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, President of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, was contacted by Aastha Channel with the request, to allow a team of their Documentary Film Crew to take his interview and film glimpses of his daily routine in the Ashram along with other Ashram activities.

The Aastha Film-crew arrived on 10th July 2011 and started their shooting works in the morning of 11th July 2011 with Swami Vishveshwaranandaji during his prayers and taking part in Arati in the Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir.

On 12th July 2011 morning the Aastha TV Crew filmed the Hawana in the Yajnashala of Omkarananda Shanta-Durga Mandir, which is conducted daily, by one of the Main-Priests of Omkarananda Ashram, in the presence of Shri Swami Vishveshwaranandaji.

After that, on the same day, the whole TV Crew went along with Swami Vishveshwaranandaji, Kumari Somashekhari (General Secretary) and Shri G. Sukumar (Trustee) to Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam Inter-College, situated in Muni-ki-reti, which is having at present a strength of 2500 students. There the film-team explored the different class rooms of this excellent school, as well as filming senior students in the science and computer labs, music-room, etc.

The Members of the Aastha Film Crew were delighted by this clean and well maintained Omkarananda School and its small beautiful students, who are being well prepared for a great future.

From there the Film Crew was guided to Omkarananda Institute of Management and Technology, Omkarananda Nagar, Muni-ki-reti, which is situated in an extremely beautiful area on a hill near the headquarters of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, overlooking the majestic flow of the Ganga with the background of the Himalayan foothills.

The beautiful dance-movements and tinkling sounds of the foot-bells of the students were nicely captured by the cameraman of the Aastha TV Channel.

The tight and busy schedule of the Aastha TV Crew ended in the evening with filming of a Hawana and Arati on the beautiful Omkarananda Ganga Ghat, directly at the holy river Ganges, in Muni-ki-reti.

On 13th July 2011 the Aastha Film Crew got the opportunity to visit Omkarananda Kunja Shishu Niketan in Agrakhal, a Junior High School, situated on the Rishikesh - Gangotri Road. This wonderful school is one among the 50 Omkarananda Hill Schools, which are scattered in different Districts of the Garhwal Himalayas, many of them in very remote areas.
