Republic Day was celebrated in Omkarananda
Saraswati Nilayam Inter-College, on 26th January 2011, in a most
splendid way. The traditional flag hoisting was done among great
clapping by Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda, President Omkarananda
Ashram, and then everybody was standing straight for the National
Anthem.
The programme started with a group action
song, followed by a so called "Mass Drill" in which students, all
up to the Class 4, in colourful shining, specially arranged
dresses, showed a beautiful demonstration in a highly synchronized
manner.
The meaning of this special Republic Day had
to be explained. And that was done by a student in perfect
English, again of Class 4. "Vande Mataram" was sung by
another group of students in an equally perfect style like the
programmes before.
