The TV News Channel One launched a special Telecast System for Uttarakhand, in its Capital Dehradun, on 30th October 2010, in the evening hours.

Swami Vishveshwarananda and Kumari Somashekhari were invited to participate in this event. After initial discussions Somashekhari, on request of the people concerned, gave a splendid dance performance, and when Soma, also on request, started singing in the typical Garhwali language, the audience was overwhelmed and responded with endless clapping.

Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda is launching the first direct Telecast in Uttarakhand for the TV-News Channel "Channel One".

To release the News Channel and to make the Start of the Telecast Program, Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda and other Dignitaries were asked to press a particular button on the computer, so that the News Channel started operating. The Program then was telecast live all over India.

Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, President of Omkarananda Ashram, was requested by the Organizers to bless this Event with his Words of Wisdom. Swamiji's joyous and lively speech was also telecast live.

The Organizers of this function expressed their heartfelt Thanks to Swami Vishveshwarananda, Kumari Somashekhari and other Dignitaries and presented Mementos to them.

Shri G. Sukumar, Shri R.D. Gaur and Shri P.C. Malhotra had taken a lot of pain to organize and to manage everything for Soma's dance program.
