It was a great joy
and honour for Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, to host for the first
time Shri Deepak Mazumdar, the Bharatanatyam-Dance-Guru and
Dance-Composer of the legendary Filmstar, Hema Malini, and other
talented Film-Stars, like Gracy Singh, and many, many other
artists. Some months ago, in Mumbai, Shri Deepakji had gone out of
the way to teach within the shortest possible time a very
beautiful Bharatanatyam-dance-item from the Temple-repertoire to
Kumari Somashekhari, Director of Omkarananda Saraswati Natya Kala
Academy and Secretary of Omkarananda Saraswati Charitable Trust.

H.H. Shri Swami
Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, along with Deepak
Mazumdar and Pavitra Bhatt |
On 12th April 2010 Shri Deepak Mazumdar
visited Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, accompanied by his
outstanding disciple, Shri Pavitra Bhatt, who, thanks to his Guru
Deepakji, has already at a very young age established himself as
an excellent Bharatanatyam-Dance Performer and, like his Guru, is
teaching this beautiful art to many students successfully, in
India, as well as abroad.
Shri Deepakji, a great Bhakta of Lord
Krishna and Devotee of H.H. Sant Prabhuji Maharaj, and his
disciple Pavitraji were very happy to see the beautiful
OmkarĀananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir, built in typical South Indian
Style, and other Temples of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas.
Pavitraji spontaneously expressed his wish to offer a
dance-recital in front of OmkarĀananda-Kamakshi-Devi, when he will
come again for the next visit.
On 14th April 2010 was the most important
day during the MAHAKUMBH for taking a holy bath in the Ganga.
Therefore Shri Deepak Mazumdar, along with his disciple Pavitra
and the President of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, H.H. Shri Swami
Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, and Shri Swami Satchidananda and
others from Omkarananda Ashram, went to the beautiful Omkarananda
Public Ghat, Muni-ki-Reti, where all of them could take the ritual
Ganga Bath on this most auspicious day.
After the holy dip in the Ganga,
Dance-Guruji Shri Deepak Mazumdar and his disciple Pavitra Bhatt
took refreshments in Omkarananda Shanta-Durga Mandir, and then
they had to leave for South-India, because they were already
booked for an important Indian-Classical Dance Festival and
performances in South-Indian Temples.
All in Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas
expressed their wish, that these two great and dedicated artists
may come again and again and stay for a longer time.
