Omkarananda Institute of Management & Technology
on 26th February 2010, for Successful
Participation in Sports of OIMT Students
OIMT team went on the 21st February 2010 to
Dwarahat (District Almora) for the Uttarakhand Technical
University (UTU) Sports. Out of several categories, OIMT team
participated in Volleyball. There were 16 teams and OIMT was
declared the runners up. Our team beat Hermes College Roorkee by
25-11 and 25-9. The second match was with Institute of Management
Studies, Dehradun. They won by 25-17 and 25-21 and reached quarter
finals. The third match was with the local Dwarahat College. The
home team had the advantage but our team beat them to reach
semifinals. The final match was with GRD Institute of Management &
Technology, Dehradun. Despite great performance our team lost but
was declared runners up. They brought the runners up trophy,
individual player trophies and certificates plus the best attacker
trophy to Mr. Shailendra Sainwal, along with participation
certificate.
Upon the Team's return we celebrated on
campus with ever supportive and encouraging Swami
Vishveshwaranandaji amidst us. Swamiji told the students to keep
trying and be successful. He also gave them gifts.
Present were Shri M.S Negi, President,
OIMT, Prof. Rekha Agarwala, Director, Dr. Pankaj Bijalwan, Dean,
and others.
The successful OIMT students were garlanded
by Swamiji, then coffee and sweets were distributed. The effort of
OIMT team made the upcoming Holi festival more colorful on the
26th February 2010, when the team returned to Rishikesh.
The successful OIMT-team comprised of
following players: Sunil Bijalwan (Team Captain), Shailendra
Sainwal, Sachin Kumar, Amit Lingwal, Pawan Deshwal, Ganesh Bisht,
Manoj Badola and Brijmohan Rana. Coach of the Team was Mr. Sanil
Rawat.
