Mega Show 2010
in Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam
Preparatory School, Dehradun Road, Rishikesh,
on 13th March 2010
In March, the annual exams are over. So,
the students decided to celebrate the last day of the session with
their friends and parents. Hence, a Mega Show was organised. For
the kids it was a day to enjoy and show others what they have
learnt throughout the year.
The show started with a devotional dance "O
Palanhare!" that inspired the hearts with a feeling of God's
everlasting presence and love for us.
A skit titled "World's Major Problems" was
an attempt to depict various social problems. The message was that
if all people perform their duty with honesty and sincerity, and
help each other, the world can be a happier place to live in.
The patriotic group dance "Dharti Sunahari"
described the richness of India's crops, the beauty of its rivers
and mountains, and the loving nature of its citizens.
A ballet titled "Swan Dance" indeed was the
attraction of the day. It was a difficult piece for the students,
because it required a perfect combination of harmony, rhythm and
expression. However, all the credit for its success goes to a
dance teacher from Israel, Noa Marchand.
Then four different groups recited rhymes,
while at times even enacting the dialogues in between. Indeed,
they stole the hearts of the people with their apt expressions.
There is no doubt that poetry enhances one's sense of rhythm,
imagination and memory.

The expression of the audience was a clear
proof that the function was a grand success. We will treasure this
meaningful experience in our hearts for a long time.
Finally the President of Omkarananda
Ashram, Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda, and the General Secretary,
Kumari Somashekhari, thanked Usha Devi and Meenakshi Madam for
their successful function and for making Omkarananda Saraswati
Nilayam Preparatory School a Number One School in Rishikesh.
