Farewell for Class 12 Students of
Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam Inter-College,
Muni-ki-reti, on 20th February 2010
Report by Rini Banerjee & Karishma Mahar, Class XII

Thousands of blessings in heart and mild tears in eyes we gathered together to bid a warm farewell to the ISC batch 2009-10 on 20th February. The formal function commenced in the Seminar Hall of Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam, which was decorated with flowers and candles. The function started with the lighting of the lamp. The Ashramites, Shri Swami Vishveshwaranandaji Maharaj, Kumari Somashekhariji, Swami Narasimhuluji, Mr. and Mrs. Kanthilal Premraj, parents and the students were welcomed with a Saraswati Vandana performed by the school choir, which created a very serene atmosphere in the Hall.

As per the tradition of the school, a Hawana was performed by Swami Vishveshwaranandaji Maharaj, our Principal Col. (Retd.) D.L. Sachdeva and the students of class XII.

The school captain, Anjali Rawat, and another student, Jayita Kalia, delivered very nostalgic speeches and even their guardians blessed the students with their words.

A song, Gopal Gokul, was performed by the school choir under the guidance of our music teacher, Mrs. Sujata Banerjee, to seek blessings of Lord Krishna and to wish the outgoing batch best of luck for their future endeavours.

Hawana with Class 12 Students

Our respected Vice-Principal, Mrs. Mridula Chaturvedi's emotional speech, aroused deep feelings in many being present there.

Swami Vishveshwaranandaji Maharaj blessed the students with his golden words and presented them gifts, Rudrakshas and the Geeta, as a token of love.

A song entitled 'tere ruke na kadam' served as an inspiration for all of us and encouraged us never to look back in times of troublesome situations.

Kumari Somashekhari and our honourable Principal Col. (Retd.) D.L. Sachdeva showered their words of inspiration on the students.

Traditions never die with time if they are rich. So, as per the tradition of the school, the passing out batch was asked to light candles to seek blessings of the Goddess of Knowledge, Saraswati.

The atmosphere became more euphoric with the song 'itni shakti hame dena data' sang by the choir group.
